Pens Clinch Home Ice

Hey All,

Today the Pittsburgh Penguins took on the New York Rangers at Console Energy Center. This was a critical game for the pens, as they are fighting for home ice in the first round of the playoffs.

The Pens made this game look easy as they single handedly beat the Rangers by a score of 5-2. The game was played on the game on their terms. They got the puck in deep behind the D and forced them to turn their backs to the Penguins.

There was a bit of a bad call in the 3rd period of the game. Orpike was at center ice when a Ranger player came across and Orpike didn't see him until late. He tried to get out of the way, but was unable to, and the two hit knee to knee. They gave Brookes a 5 minute major penalty, and he was told to go to the locker room, seeing how there was only 4 minutes to go in the game. There shouldn't have been a major penalty. This was not intentional by any means. But not much that can be done about it now.

The Pens have one more game of the regular season this Saturday against the Philadelphia Flyers. This game would of had more meaning until today's win. There is no way that the Flyers can catch the Pens in point to get home ice. Can't wait to see if the Pens will rest some of their stars or will they play them so that they don't get rusty. Either way I'll be here to keep you up to date on what happens.

Until next time,
You keep doing what you do, and I'll keep you up to date with everything sports
